What's happening at your internship? We would love to hear what kind of work you are doing!
This summer, I helped plan the national #TeachTruth day of action and our #TeachTruth DC event. We are seeking to protect the freedom to learn.
Why did you apply for this internship?
I applied for this internship because I believe in their mission of elevating people's histories in classrooms across the country and advocating for educational justice at the systemic level.

Was there anything special about how you found this internship?
My roommate Kaia's mom knew the organization's founder and did education justice organizing with her, so I applied because I wanted to learn from such experienced educators.
What has been your favorite part of this internship?
I loved our day of action in DC. It was moving to be surrounded by intergenerational community members fighting for our collective future.
What is something you have learned from your internship that you didn't expect?
I had an earlier start date this summer than the other interns and a summer prior under my belt, so I ended up showing the new interns the ropes. I didn't expect this to occur, but it was special also being able to show them my hometown.
